The Marketing Specialist assists with the planning, implementation, and analysis of market, channel, and product-level research and programs. Serves as the primary resource and administer of the Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF) system and all applicable applications, systems, imports, and extracts. Utilizes insight from the marketing database and industry and regional trends to gather, analyze, implement, and optimize programs to drive revenue, reinforce sales initiatives, and optimize campaign performance. Seeks out sources of information to determine consumer segment characteristics, measurements of market potentials, market-share analysis, and campaign performance. Supports Marketing team and other business units to conduct qualitative and quantitative studies in order to analyze present and potential markets for new or existing products and services. Presents recommendations for management that is supported by trends, documentation, analysis, and reports on marketing initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage Marketing Databases (50%)

• Manages the MCIF system and all support systems, applications, processes, extracts, and imports
o Manage vendor relationship
o Build monthly databases
o Order and import all data appends
o Process data for twice-annual Performance Analytics
• Document procedures and best practices for Marketing database and associated systems
• Develop, maintain, and execute list distribution best practices and processes to support direct marketing and campaign initiatives
• Validate data and reconcile as needed
• Develop an expert knowledge of all analytical applications
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the core, data warehouse, and support applications (e.g. loan origination applications)

Support Marketing & Corporate Strategy (30%)

• Define, monitor, and analyze market-segmentation (personas) of consumers in the marketplace
• Regularly monitor and analyze marketing efforts and provide recommendations to achieve optimal ROI and response rates
• Automate campaign execution and develop routine validation and audit checks
• Run, analyze, summarize, and present reports to the marketing team and SAFE leadership in a timely manner and on a regular basis
• Establish and maintain report sets for all fulfillment channels
• Work closely with other business units and vendors to support corporate goals

External Data Management & Research (20%)

• Administer quantitative and qualitative market research projects
• Conduct competitive product and market area analysis
• Assist in compiling member and market-level survey data
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and / or Experience

BS/BA degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related field is required and at least 1-2 years of database and direct marketing experience. Experience working with financial products in a credit union or other financial institution is desirable.
