Matt Lucas

“I am currently 22 years old. I was born and raised in Sacramento and am proud to have been here for my entire life. I am currently a Sacramento State  senior pursuing a double concentration in marketing and international business through the College of Business Administration. Since I joined the American Marketing Association I have learned what it truely means to be empowered to brand myself and I believe that marketing is one of the most essential tools in all of professional life.”

Marissa Mendez is a Marketing and International Business major at Sacramento State, graduating next Spring. She loves making connections and being involved in business and marketing clubs at Sac State, including the entrepreneurship club (SACE), the student investment fund (SIF), and the marketing club (AMA). Currently, she’s President-Elect of AMA, while carrying out her duties as VP Advertising and Promotions by handling the club’s social media and website. In her free time, she can be found promoting small businesses or playing the ukulele. After graduation next Spring, she will continue traveling locally and internationally while pursuing marketing, entrepreneurship, and design.

Adrian Chao

“There are two things that attribute to my success in pursuit of higher education—grit and community. First, my unceasing will and determination for a higher quality of life. Second, the physical and emotional support from my community along with pouring into my life. It is, without a doubt, the latter of these two factors, my community, that plays a more important part in my success. The contribution of my community is what drives me forward and in this community that I call my own includes you, American Marketing Association Sacramento Valley Chapter—thank you.”

Emily Vicente is a student, artist and aspiring marketing professional. She moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area in 2013 to study Business Administration, with a concentration in marketing and international business at Sacramento State. Her artistic background drew her into marketing and she hopes to pursue a marketing career in the cosmetic industry. When she’s not studying, she enjoys going to music festivals, spending time with her family and watching Friends re-runs on Netflix.
